KS1 WALK

The children have been learning about what keeps humans healthy.

They understand that exercise is very important and they thoroughly enjoyed walking around the countryside. In doing so, they found out how much fun it can be to keep fit.

Early Years visit to Church Farm

On Friday 8th May Early Years visited Church Farm.

We were all very excited. We made sure we were wearing old clothes and wellington boots.

The first thing we did was feed the lambs. We all had a chance to feed a lamb a bottle of warm milk. The lambs were very hungry and drank the milk quickly.

Next we went to Walnut Orchard to collect eggs that the hens had laid. We collected 49 eggs altogether. There was a mixture of white and brown eggs. Some were still warm when we picked them up from the nest boxes.

We saw the special machine that sorts the eggs into different sizes; extra large, large, medium and small. Some of us were very good at guessing the size of our eggs.

After collecting the eggs we went to the chick shed and all held a tiny, little chick. Their claws were a bit scratchy, but their fluffy feathers were so soft.

Before we came back to school we all washed our hands with warm water and soap.

We had a great afternoon, everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you to the helpers who came with us.
