Our tennis, team from ks2 (2 boys and 2 girls), travelled to Freman college for a mini red tennis tournament.
The team did extremely well and everyone improved as the tournament went on. The top three teams will move on to the next stage of the competition. This year we came 5th, however, we were only 4 points from 4th place!
Luckily, for the adults who were supporting, the rain held off although it was very cold. The leaders were great and the event was well organised!
We are looking forward to next years competition.
On Monday 23rd May four of our more able scientists travelled with Mrs Dingley to Hormead School to take part in what we hope will be the first of many Science Team events. St Albans School sponsored the event and seven schools took part altogether. We had to complete a series of challenges with either a biology, chemistry or physics focus. Solving the problems, finding answers, co-operating as a team and working scientifically were all important components of the competition.
We were also treated to a series of science demonstrations which involved mixing different chemicals together to create different reactions. We made slime, watched a volcano erupting and we finished off with a very loud (and very unexpected) bang!
Every one of our team worked hard and we did very well. Everyone left with a certificate and a bag of goodies to carry out more experiments and investigations at home.
