The sports crew are dedicated to helping to develop and sustain the physical wellbeing of everyone in the school.
It has been identified that although we have a range of play equipment at break-time and lunch-time, there are a number of children that are unsure of how to use some of the equipment.
As a result, the sports crew proposed running an open activity session, once a week, where they create and run activities for the other children to join in.
To help the children to achieve this goal, they were given £100 to spend on new play equipment to run these sessions!
On Wednesday 18th of January, every child had the opportunity to learn a Bollywood dance routine by Kalpesh from K’s dance Entertainment.
Ardeley was an explosion of colour and smiling faces (even more than usual) with the children wearing bright colourful clothes to represent the variety of colours seen in Bollywood dancing.
At the end of the day all the children went out onto the playground to perform in front of the parents in a grand finale.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend the performance. A special thank to Mrs Walsh, who suggested the idea of Bollywood dancing after her daughter enjoyed a similar experience at her school.
It certainly was a day to remember, especially with so many mums, dads, nans, granddads, aunts and uncles joining in the grand finale at the end of the day.
There have been so many positive comments about the experience from children, teachers, governors and parents. As a result we have managed to book another session during the week of Diwaili, which links with our RE curriculum.
It is that time of year again when Sainsbury’s are offering school vouchers if you shop in store .
These vouchers can then be used for the school to buy various equipment across the curriculum.
Last year we had a record number of vouchers. This enabled us to buy new play time equipment as well as replacing our old PE equipment, to further enhance our sports provision.
Thank you for your continued support.
